I returned from a mini break to the Scottish Borders in Feb/March 2013 after we headed up for my husbands birthday, we go every year so I wanted to see what highlights we were missing, and any details on the places we have planned already for next time. I really enjoyed the small section on Threave Castle and this is somewhere we want to go to next time, the thought of the little boat delights me and it is really good to read a review from someone who has actually visited and experienced the castle directly. I have added both Blackness and Tantallon Castles to my 'to see' list so this was a good read for me giving an extra idea of somewhere to visit - exactly what I look for in this type of mini guide. The author also has her normal excellent tips for those not familiar to travelling in the country.
