The Vista is a Book ~~ I received a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. ~~The Vista is a stronghold of survivors attempting to adapt to a post-apocalyptic Earth after World War 3. Beyond is a largely unexplored landscape inhabited by groups of nomads and scavengers, some much more dangerous than others. And some who are very much like the Vista's Team Three, who were part of a pre-war generation subject to nefarious experimentation. The introduction of multiple characters at the beginning of the book was somewhat confusing for me at first but upon a second reading, the names and relationships became much easier to follow. I almost never re-read books, but I'm so glad I did for The Vista.S.A. Hoag provides the reader with a fascinating and detailed insight into the relationship dynamics in Team Three and just how successful itis in spite of the circumstances surrounding their very existence and the challenges of living in a much-changed world. I really loved how potentially fluid it could be but how strong it remained. The involvement of a secondary character with one of Team Three's members only served to strenghten the bond further, I thought, which is a refreshing change from more common relationship dramas. The insidious villain in The Vista is at once volatile and charismatic, and confrontations with the Vistans were edge-of-the-seat stuff.I really enjoyed this book, especially once I started to understand what made Team Three tick and how their special connection drove the plotforward to a very satisfying, action-packed ending, with nary a cliffhanger in sight! I can't wait to see where this series takes us next, not least some of the secondary characters. Highly recommended.4-1/2 stars. Team Three has a secret, one they think they ve kept from all but a select few colleagues They couldn t be wrong Allen, MacKenzie and Wade are Vista Security s top officers, part of the first generation post World War 3 They ve trained all their lives to survive and thrive in a cold, hostile world Their secret they believe they are genetically enhanced and areTeam Three has a secret, one they think they ve kept from all but a select few colleagues They couldn t be wrong Allen, MacKenzie and Wade are Vista Security s top officers, part of the first generation post World War 3 They ve trained all their lives to survive and thrive in a cold, hostile world Their secret they believe they are genetically enhanced and are unquestionably connected psychically Hidden away in an enclave in the Rocky Mountains, they re also at the forefront of the movement to see what s left of the outside world Not everyone in The Vista is as eager to venture forth As they attempt to learn the truth, their mere presence makes them targets of a vicious renegade with the means to destroy everything they know Facing exile or worse, Team Three has short time to figure out who is enemy, who is friend and how to save their home and themselves The Vista Book 1 of The Wildblood series takes place in the near future where the Earth has been mostly emptied of human beings by a short and devastating world war Venturing beyond the safety of their valley may be the best move Security has ever made it s absolutely the most dangerous.. A viral Kindle The Vista In The Vista, Book 1 of The WildBloods, we are introduced to the bleak, grey world of post apocalyptic 2047. Mankind has struggled and small groups band together in order to survive, forming societies and committees to maintain systems of control. The Vista is a safe zone, protected by bands of dedicated soldiers who carry out Sweeps in the interest of security, searching out threats and dangers in the guise of scavengers and nomads. The plot revolves around Team Three, specifically Shannon, Mackenzie (Mac) and Wade who are bound together by more than just years of comradeship; they share a secret that must be contained at all costs. The Vista is fast paced with lots of action and suspense and covers a lot of territory in the vastness of post apocalyptic United States. S A Hoag creates characters who are not only believable and enduring but who lead and direct the narrative, carrying us along in their wake. This is dystopian fiction at its best. Looking forward to the sequel

  • This was an entertaining, light hearted story that still managed to give insight into a different world and belief system than what we commonly perceive as mainstream in this day and age The different children had distinct, unique characters that were both likable and at times, makes the reader smile in recognition of the emotions and chaos that on some level many of us experienced or are experiencing as teenagers The story deals with Native American culture in a respectful and fun way, weaving [...]

  • As with the previous story in this series, I found myself getting lost with who was doing what and sometimes even where they were I read a copy of this book that I purchased from Kobo and read on the Kobo reading app The format of this book was part of what made a smooth reading experience unattainable Sometime, there would only be a paragraph per page, sometimes only a few sentences Once in a while, only a few words placed almost randomly on the page another was the, in my opinion, over use of [...]

  • Love this storyline Action, suspense, reading .I like stories that are different, edgy and hold my attention from start to finish and then onto next book This series definitely does Kudos.

  • Just finished reading and what a story First time reading this genre and a longer story than my recent reads Having said that, I m hooked Great characters you could get into and a believable storyline after an atomic war Tense ending but an enjoyable read throughout.

  • I really loved the book I thought it was a fun and very enjoyable read, with shocking moments and revelations It s not heart pounding, non stop action, but it doesn t need to be It has a steady pace, with enough suspense to keep you interested, wondering what s going to happen next.It takes place in the near future, in a post apocalyptic world, and centers around a place called The Vista, a well established safe haven for survivors of the war More specifically, those in charge of Security for Th [...]

  • I like science fiction and post apocalyptic stories, and I have found another author and series I can add to my list with S.A Hoag and The Vista. At first it was difficult to understand what the story was about and there was not a lot of explanation or background information to set the stage But with further reading it became clear about the characters exploring the land, of the nomads and scavengers, and how everyone is adapting to a new world The storyline follows Team Three and their relations [...]
