Popular Book The Price of Freedom 3.5 stars. The book is good but very sad, with misunderstandings galore. She says one thing, he hears another. And the life in the mines went on for so long. I think the author could have cut a few of the breakfast/dinner comings and goings. But overall, I enjoyed the book and plan on reading the next in the series.

  • 3.5 stars I have to say I have been excited to read this book after reading the Price of Pleasure I couldn t wait to read about Jess The story leads off from the Price of Pleasure and we find out how Jess survived Jess was sold to the mines to Pilgrims He had to work in unspeakable conditions for many grueling hours One day, he almost dies in the mines and finally decides enough is enough Jess, along with Bragan the slave s doctor and Logan another slave working in the mines , decide to revolt [...]

  • This book had a really good plot, but at times it dragged Otherwise, I would ve given it 4 stars Another reviewer complained about Part 1 of the book The Mine being too long, and I disagree That was the best part of the book and funny when the H pretended to be an invalid Part 2 was interesting with the escape of the slaves It was Part 3 that seemed kind of pointless The HEA could ve been a little better, too.

  • H is a slave h is member of the society that owns the slaves, but is an outcast and is forced to work in kitchens and as nurse to slaves H gets wounded and h nurses him They have sex right before the slave revolt I just couldn t get into it to bored and didn t feel like there was much of a relationship b t the H and h.

  • Bethany helps out one of her father s slaves Jess who she is attracted too Jess wants something else out of life than to be a slave the rest of his life So he sets about making that happen by escaping and taking the girl he wants with him I like this series and look forward to reading the rest.

  • Didn t like this one as well as the first in the series I was so tired of the whole lack of trust issue by the end A little bit of it was okay, but it went on way too long.

  • The story was okay There were too many repetitions about the mining and lack of trust with no justification I had to make myself finish reading it because I was getting bored with the story.
