Good Book A Prayer for America Even 12 years later, a reader can tell Kucinich published this book as he contemplated a 2004 presidential run. Most of the speeches focus on how he differentiates himself from George W. Bush’s administration. Political books like this one usually have short shelf lives and this book is no different. Although the references can seem dated, Kucinich has ideas that deserve more consideration such as single-payer universal healthcare and a Department of Peace. Ultimately Kucinich has too many liberal ideas and too little money for a presidential run and the nomination went to lackluster candidate John Kerry. Verdict: Liberals will like the politics, but anyone can gain public speaking tips from these well-written speeches.

  • I find it heartening that even though many folks treated Dennis Kucinich like a punchline when he ran for president a decade and a half ago, a man with nearly the exact same platform nearly became the Democratic nominee in 2016, and absolutely WOULD have beaten the Republican candidate if he had. This slender volume is really just a collection of speeches given by Kucinich to assorted political audiences and activist gatherings, but it serves as such a wonderful synopsis of the ideas behind Democ [...]

  • Although idealistic, I like to cut this guy some slack for saying what is on his mind And, I met him in Montana when he was running for President in 2004.
