Sugar Coated Sins Viral Books Not only is this series getting old and tired but there were so many inconsistencies in the story that you couldn't keep track of them. Did the author write this book while half asleep or forget if there is a Chief of Police or a Sheriff? Suzanne, as usual, is a pompous know-it-all who often uses bullying tactics to snoop. How does her donut shop stay in business when she spends all her time snooping instead of running her business? Time to put this series to rest.. Donut Mystery 20, SUGAR COATED SINS, From New York Times Bestselling Author, Jessica Beck When a time capsule is accidentally unearthed on the town square, a murder confession is discovered, leading Suzanne, Grace, and Jake on a hunt through time for a killer who clearly isn t finished yet.. Bestseller Books Sugar Coated Sins I don't know who wrote this but it wasn't the original "Jessica Beck" unless she completely disregarded her last 19 books. The inconsistency with the Police Department is now the Sheriff's Department and Jake is the Sheriff not the Chief!! Phillip was Chief Martin for the last 19 books. This is a super annoying mistake through the entire book. Don't get me started on "Anita." The worst was Grace, she was a completely different character and Suzanne, Jake and Phillip were super off as well. Just awful! It was not the original books and if this "author" is going to write the rest, I may be done with this particular series, which I'm totally sad about. The last 19 had ups and downs but I still really enjoyed all the characters and that kept me coming back.

  • This is a fast read but I don t get to read everyday , and was a cute story I would have liked to know about the main characters, but not too much detail there Again, a cute read.

  • Who Wrote This I do not know who wrote this, but it wasn t Jessica Beck Their are so many things that were wrong from the first chapter on The biggest was the fact April Springs has a police force and a Chief of Police , but suddenly they have a Sheriff and a Sheriffs department Jake, Suzanne s husband, was the interim police chief in the previous book and now he Is the Sheriff Other details were wrong and the name of a recurring character is wrong These details and the tone of the characters ju [...]

  • Love this author and this series, one of my very favorites The characters are wonderful, Suzanne and Grace are funny and get into so much trouble helping the police solve murders Love the progression of the series with Suzanne and Jake s, and Momma and Philip s relationships They are believable where many series take it too far, or not far enough Love two cows and a moose, Emily s store buddies and their many costumes I love small town life, so April Springs sounds like a wonderful place to live [...]

  • A murder confession in a time capsule is unearthed 85 years too soon Of course, getting involved in solving the mystery is too hard to pass up for Suzanne With Grace back on board and with the blessing of her husband Jake, Suzanne takes off and does what she does best other than baking donuts I was surprised when the culprit was revealed and because of what happened Suzanne has decided she is finished sleuthing I hope she reconsiders because I really enjoy her escapades and want to read .

  • As usual, the author has knocked this out of the park This is a great addition to the series I can t believe I have read 20 books in this series already They have all been great and this one was no different Suzanne is a wonderful character as is everyone else in the series and the story was great The ending was a little hard to take and once you read the story you will understand why Great book and great recipes to boot.

  • Jessica Beck has delivered a fast and easy to read cozy mystery once again She has Suzanne, Grace and Jake working together to solve this latest mystery.I love the way she navigates us, the readers, through the labarynths of her story to make sure we keep turning the pages until the mystery is solved and the killer brought to justice.

  • Not bad but I ve gotten tired of this seriesI liked that this was different in the fact that the murder happened years ago however, I m really tired of how she acts The interactions of the people are too contrived for my taste although I know I used to like them.

  • Not her best This was not one of her best I usually have a hard time putting her books down, but the storyline seem to drag in places Not as exciting as her previous books.
